    Just bought this for my 4090 fe ( got a steal on eBay for 550$!). I cleaned it and swapped the thermal paste for thermal grizzly kryonaught. This will be replacing a rtx3090 founders with a similar block from Corsair. Turns out they are pretty much the same dimensions! So I did not have to change any tubing. Just swap fittings over and hook it back up. Now for temps. My house is constantly in the 21c ish range (70f) so my system idles at 28-31c. And peaks at 57c at full tilt. My system has a 5800x and two 240mm radiators. Each rad is about 50mm thick as well. I run my fans at 1200rpm with my pump on a curve. So tempts will vary for you. The 4090 runs cooler than my 3090 which is surprising! Memory temp are always under 70c. Would recommend it as it's a good cost to performance option.

    A picture speaks a thousand words.

    Amazon in their infinite wisdom decided that the best method to ship a product that must remain watertight lest it destroy the $2200+ video card it has been bolted to would be to just slap a shipping label on it and ration out some prime tape. In the same order far less valuable things that were far less fragile were packed in a shipping box.

    As can happen with them the thermal pads, especially the 0.5mm thick ones on the unit I received had gone stiff as dry play-doh. Thermal pads can come in many different flavors and much like thermal compound can cure, dry up, become useless. These had and the ride didn't help. Amazon being Amazon sought to fix it by replacing it, it being the entire waterblock. Really green thinking from Amazon there.

    Reaching out to Corsair was fun. CorsairArt was quick to check with the Hydro X team to see if thermal pads were offered as a part. They are not. I had not heard back from Corsair on my ticket which wasn't surprising so I went ahead and ordered replacement pads and paste. Finally a response from Corsair that they would inquire about thermal pads. I informed them CorsairArt already checked into that. They then offered to send out another waterblock if I sent them this one for their engineering team to study.

    I declined, just cover the cost of the thermal pads and compound. Surely Corsairs engineers have unraveled the mystery of thermal pads. That was that, Corsair gave that as the only option. Send multiple heavy chunks of copper on an intercontinental tour and pretend like Canada isn't experiencing hellish droughts and some of the warmest winters in our lives. Reimbursing the pittance for the thermal pads I purchased is somehow better for the world in general in this scenario.

    Do yourself a world of good and support a different brand.
